Port Said Lighthouse

The lighthouse is one of, if not the most important architectural and historical landmarks in the city of port said. Constructed by a French architect a week prior to the inauguration of the Suez Canal, the lighthouse was meant to serve a guide to ships coming through the canal and a symbol of pride for Egyptians. The tower is shaped like an octagon and is about 56m, overlooking the beautiful waters of the Suez gulf.
