Jewish Cairo

A unique and rare yet significant part of Cairo, is Jewish Cairo, which hosts the Synagogue of Ezra. This is where the Pharaoh's daughter found baby Moses in the reeds along the Nile River, where prophet Jeremiah was taken to in Egypt, and where a lost treasure of 400,000 secular and sacred collections of Jewish manuscripts called the Cairo Genizah were found.
