Medinet Habu

Located in the fertile land where the Nile floodplain meets the desert, Madinat Habu, also known as the Mortuary Temple of Ramses III, is the second largest temple in Luxor after the Karnak Temple. The temple is located on a large rectangle compound with large walls depicting impressive hieroglyphics, pharaohs, gods, and battles that occurred with the Hittites. One section on the wall appears to keep records in the form of etches/carvings of how many enemies they had defeated. The temple also includes the memorial of King Horemheb and the lavishly decorated tombs of the New Kingdom officials.
