Petrified Forest

Located north of Lake Quran, the petrified forest is home to large 40-meter-high trees that have been fossilized where you can see every preserved detail down to the marshy plants and aquatic ferns. These trees serve as a reminder that the forests have been growing for over 35 million years. The petrified forest is also the location of the Jebel Qatrani, an open-air museum displaying artifacts and fossils of plants and animals.
