Tanis

Also known as the biblical city of Zoan where the famed story of Moses took place, the city houses some of Egypt's most grandiose artifacts. Serving as Egypt's capital from the 21st century onwards, the city still houses the main remaining parts of the temple of Amon-Ra. Large obelisks that mark the various pylons of the temple can still be seen in the city today. Royal tombs that housed pharaohs from later dynasties can be found in the city, where treasures rival that of Tutankhamen tomb.
