Temple of Merritt Amun

The Temple of Meritamen is situated in between residential buildings in Sohag Governorate, where modern Egypt is built on the same lands of Ancient Egypt. The temple was made in honor of King Ramses II’s daughter, his favorite wife Nefertari. The statue of Merritt Amon or often referred to as the bride, by the people of Akhmim in Sohag, due to her statue being considered one of the most beautiful statues with her charm and the Pharaonic beauty radiating around the city.
