Wadi El-Hitan (Valley of Whales)

This UNESCO World Heritage site is considered an open-air museum that has captured an interesting perspective on the evolution of life. Wadi el-Hitan, which translates to the Valley of Whales, was the discovery site for hundreds of giant whales, sharks, and other fossils that used to fill the valley. Walking through the valley you can see the sheer size of these ancient creatures as you see their skeletons in the ground looking like gigantic teeth coming out of the sand. You can also visit the Fossil and Climate Change Museum in the valley to see some amazing fossils that will leave you in awe.
